Terms & Conditions of Sale

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made directly from Animal Technology through our online store. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

These terms should be read together with our Returns & Refunds Policy, Warranty Policy and Delivery & Shipping Policy.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

1. About Animal Technology

Animal Technology supplies specialist gaming computers, gaming systems, computer cases, components, accessories and related products.

Many of our products are manufactured, 3D printed, assembled, configured and tested by us before dispatch.

2. Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and prices displayed on our website are accurate.

Because some products are manufactured or assembled in-house, minor cosmetic differences may occur between individual products. These do not constitute a defect where they do not materially affect the product's advertised appearance, specification, operation or intended use.

Computer hardware, software and games are continually evolving. Performance can vary depending upon the game, software version, operating system, drivers, settings, resolution and other factors.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, performance figures, benchmarks or frame-rate figures should therefore be regarded as representative rather than guarantees of identical performance in every application.

3. Orders

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the products shown in your order.

You are responsible for checking that your order details, products, quantities, delivery address and contact information are correct before submitting the order.

Receipt of an order does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where there is a genuine reason to do so, including an obvious pricing or description error, suspected fraud, inability to obtain payment, product unavailability or circumstances that make fulfilment impossible.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken and no goods are supplied, the appropriate payment will be refunded.

4. Prices & Payment

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling unless otherwise stated.

The total amount payable, including applicable delivery charges, will be shown during checkout.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.

In the event of an obvious pricing error, we are not obliged to supply goods at a price that a reasonable customer would recognise as clearly incorrect. Where appropriate, we will contact you and give you the opportunity to purchase at the correct price or cancel the order.

5. Manufacturing & Preparation

Many Animal Technology products are manufactured, 3D printed, assembled, configured or tested to order.

All components and materials required for our standard products are normally held in stock.

Popular products may already be manufactured or assembled and may therefore be dispatched considerably sooner.

Where manufacturing or assembly is required, please allow approximately 5–10 working days for manufacturing, assembly, configuration, testing and preparation before dispatch.

This is a manufacturing allowance rather than a standard waiting time, and we will always aim to dispatch orders sooner wherever reasonably possible.

The manufacturing period is separate from the courier's delivery time.

If we become aware of a significant unforeseen delay, we will contact you.

6. Delivery

Delivery arrangements are explained more fully in our Delivery & Shipping Policy.

Customers are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate delivery address.

High-value orders may require a signature, PIN or other proof of delivery.

Where Animal Technology arranges delivery to a consumer, responsibility for the goods during that delivery remains with Animal Technology until the goods come into the customer's physical possession or that of a person identified by the customer, except where the consumer independently commissions a carrier not offered by us, where different statutory rules may apply.

7. Delivery Damage

Customers should inspect parcels as soon as reasonably possible following delivery.

If a parcel or product appears damaged, please retain all packaging and contact Animal Technology as soon as possible.

We may request photographs or other reasonable evidence to assist us in establishing what occurred and pursuing the matter with the delivery company.

Please do not return transit-damaged equipment without first contacting us for appropriate instructions.

8. Cancellation & Change of Mind

Consumers purchasing eligible goods online normally have a statutory right to cancel without giving a reason during the applicable cancellation period.

For most standard goods, this period ends 14 days after the day the goods are received.

After notifying us of cancellation, goods should be returned within the applicable statutory period.

Unless otherwise required by law, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods following a change-of-mind cancellation.

Where permitted by law, we may make an appropriate deduction from a refund if goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning and their value has consequently been reduced.

Full details are contained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

9. Bespoke & Personalised Products

Some products may be manufactured or customised specifically to an individual customer's specifications.

UK cancellation rules contain an exception for goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or are clearly personalised. Where this exception genuinely applies, the normal 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply.

A product is not necessarily bespoke merely because it is assembled after an order is placed. We will only rely upon this exception where the product genuinely falls within the applicable legal definition.

This does not affect the customer's rights if bespoke or personalised goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.

10. Faulty Goods

Goods supplied by Animal Technology must meet the requirements of applicable UK consumer law, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose where applicable and as described.

If you believe a product is faulty, please contact us.

We may ask for reasonable information, photographs, videos, error messages or troubleshooting information to help identify the problem.

Where appropriate, products may be returned to Animal Technology for inspection and testing.

Acceptance of a product for inspection does not itself constitute acceptance that the product is faulty.

For qualifying faulty goods, consumers may have a statutory short-term right to reject within 30 days. After this period, repair or replacement will generally be the first statutory remedy, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.

Further remedies may become available where repair or replacement is impossible, unsuccessful, cannot be provided within a reasonable time or causes significant inconvenience.

11. Inspection, Repair & Testing

Returned systems may undergo appropriate inspection and diagnostic testing.

This may include hardware diagnostics, stability testing, temperature testing, inspection of components and connections, software checks and reproduction of the reported fault.

Where repair or replacement is the appropriate remedy, Animal Technology will carry this out in accordance with applicable consumer law.

A refund is not automatically due merely because a fault has been reported or an item has been returned for inspection.

12. Customer-Caused Damage

Animal Technology is not responsible for damage caused after delivery by accident, misuse, neglect, liquid, impact, inappropriate power supplies or connections, incorrect installation, unsuitable third-party equipment or other circumstances unrelated to an inherent defect in the supplied product.

Where a returned product has suffered customer-caused damage, we will distinguish that damage from any genuine defect for which Animal Technology remains responsible.

13. Modifications & Overclocking

Some Animal Technology products use specialist hardware, firmware or configurations.

Customer modifications, dismantling, BIOS or firmware alterations, voltage changes, overclocking beyond settings supplied or approved by Animal Technology, cooling modifications or wiring alterations do not automatically remove statutory rights.

However, Animal Technology will not be responsible under our voluntary warranty for faults or damage actually caused by an unauthorised or inappropriate modification, voltage setting, overclock or other customer alteration.

14. Software, Drivers & Games

Computer games, operating systems, drivers and other third-party software may change after the product has been supplied.

Animal Technology cannot guarantee continued compatibility with every future game, operating-system update, driver, online service or third-party application unless specifically stated.

A software compatibility issue or change introduced by a third party does not automatically mean that the supplied hardware is defective.

Where appropriate, we will reasonably assist customers in establishing whether a reported problem is hardware or software related.

15. Warranty

Products may include an Animal Technology warranty as described in our Warranty Policy or individual product listing.

Our warranty is provided in addition to statutory consumer rights and does not replace or restrict them.

Warranty coverage does not extend to damage caused by accident, misuse or customer modification where that damage was not caused by an inherent fault with the product.

16. Returns

Customers should contact Animal Technology before returning equipment so that we can provide appropriate instructions.

Computer systems and other valuable electronic equipment must be securely packaged for return.

Customers should retain appropriate evidence of dispatch when arranging their own return and should use a tracked and adequately insured service suitable for the value of the goods.

Our complete return procedure is contained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

17. Customer Data

Customers should maintain backups of important data.

Repair or diagnosis of computer equipment may require operating-system restoration, storage replacement, formatting or other procedures that can result in loss of stored information.

We cannot guarantee preservation of customer data during repair or diagnosis.

Nothing in this provision excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

18. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability that cannot legally be excluded under consumer law.

Animal Technology is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

For consumer purchases, we are not responsible for business losses arising from products purchased primarily for personal use, such as loss of profits, business revenue or business opportunities, except where the law provides otherwise.

19. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

We will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by events genuinely outside our reasonable control.

Where such an event materially affects an order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and keep the customer informed.

This does not remove any statutory rights the customer may have where an order cannot ultimately be fulfilled.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The terms applicable to an order will normally be those in effect when the relevant contract was formed. Later changes will not retrospectively remove contractual or statutory rights relating to an existing order.

21. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the laws applicable to you.

22. Contacting Animal Technology

If you have a question about an order, return, warranty claim or these Terms & Conditions, please contact Animal Technology using the contact details provided on our website.

We encourage customers to contact us directly if a problem arises so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve it fairly.

23. Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any statutory rights or remedies available to consumers.

These Terms & Conditions should be read together with our Returns & Refunds Policy, Warranty Policy and Delivery & Shipping Policy.

The 14-day cancellation provision and bespoke-goods exception reflect the current distance-selling rules, while the fault provisions preserve the Consumer Rights Act remedies rather than trying to contract out of them.
